...is EXACTLY where my wife and I are now with our almost 12 year old African American son.

Zimmerman was hunting. If he's allowed to get away with it, more will follow. I haven't even ben in a fist fight since I was 15 (I'll be 57 in June), but if this were to happen to my son I think I'd be seriously inclined towards a violent act of revenge against the Zimmerman wannabe.
