I think this shows how overly dependent business is on the government. I owned my own business for twenty years, got several loans, a couple of which were for expansion, and the government was involved in none of them. My business was sufficiently sound and my business acumen sufficiently documented that the bank was willing to lend to me without having to have the government involved.

Small business loans are made to businesses who don't really qualify. The bank won't lend until the government orders them to do so, and guarantees payment when the borrower defaults. Not sure that's of real benefit to our economy. Sure, it creates some jobs, but it has businesses running that are run by people who are not really qualified to run them.
