I used a 22 semi-automatic long-rifle when I was a kid in Scouts. I sucked at it since a number of my peers in my troop had used a 22 caliber before, often often.

Seldom used any gun since then----that's what, 46 or 47 years?--and none for the last 33 years.

The rest is "oh, it looks scary." And perhaps magazine size.
