1. Cultural differences.

Not too surprising that conservatives are more traditionalist, and like hard sounds, old names, and the names of famous leaders or Biblical figures, or that liberals sometimes favor the esoteric or pretty-sounding names.

There's a lot bound up in naming a child. Attitudes and beliefs of the parents, hopes and aspirations for the child. A desire to carry on tradition or blaze a new trail.

It is interesting to see someone study enough to actually see it.
