my adult years. Just wish I'd heard his suggestions years ago. After a few years of going out to awful, crowded parties and even worse club celebrations, we finally hit on putting out a simple spread and bar at home, then inviting our friends to drop in and out at will on their way to or from other celebrations. (They were welcome to hang around if they wanted, but we weren't putting ourselves out anymore than for any casual evening at home. Maybe a crockpot of pork and sauerkraut along with the chips and dip). TV or records/tapes. That was all, and worked beautifully for years. We never had to dress up or hit the roads on "amateur night."
