Can the Dunning Krueger Effect explain Chump and his supporters?

2. I understand this, and have even run into this effect in people i know.

I just want to add one caveat though.

I know and have worked with people who have significant intellectual disabilities, for instance, folks with Down Syndrome.

By and large, they have been and are acutely aware of their disability, having been mocked and bullied for much of their lives. They tend not to presume to expertise and knowledge they know they don't possess.

But yeah, we all know the Chris Claven types at the end of the bar (and in the Oval Office) who think they're experts on anything and everything.
