And he was equally friendly, made it a point to engage with the audience even after 30+ years! But the main difference I noticed was with Letterman, we just waited in line and then went in. But with Jon Stewart's Daily Show, there were metal detectors, you had to take off your belt(!) in front of security and they needed to check out my purse - but the guy who checked me in was pretty friendly - guess I didn't look dangerous - and he gave up on my purse!
