17. Very true... just recently (here, in fact) I read someone's boast about having donated again...

... and again, and again. (Of course it was a "look-at-me" kind of vanity post... so over the top that I'm not even sure if it could be taken seriously.)

But, in any case, for reasons that remains unclear to me, there's supposed to be a value in making ten $27 donations rather than one $270 donation. Maybe it's a clever loophole way to get around whatever donation limits there may be. I don't know.

It's certainly not very economical since most credit card processors (even PayPal) charge a flat-minimum "transaction fee" (25-cents? 50-cents?) in addition a percentage of the transaction. So, by intentionally making multiple payments (when one would suffice) the donor is giving additional money (via minimum transaction fees) to the processor.

Not very smart, eh?
