after a few years Chicago was really tearing it up. In the music circles I was involved with at the time though that BS&T were "too commercial"... we weren't fond of the Monkees and other Teevee connected artists. It was a thing back then. Many were immersed in Tom Rush, Joni Mitchell, the Taylor brothers and Carole king along with the Dead and Jimi Hendrix, Cream John Mayall, Buddy Guy and Bonnie Raitt. It was quite eclectic, within 50 miles of Boston, so there was a lot to choose from as we rejected Patsy Cline, Kitty Wells and George Jones that dominated radio waves outside the cities.

Now I look at many of those artists with a different perspective, of course, and really enjoy a lot of them. I do a pretty good Patsy Cline cover when in the right company. But I'd take on a BS&T or Chicago cover anytime too.
