After nearly 80 years, I have concluded that...

Faith is the art of pretending.

Religion is the practice, mutual reinforcement, and promotion of a specific group of doctrines, stories, and dogma.

Religion is divisive to the point of shunning, resenting, threatening, fighting, and even killing.

Religious people experience a lifetime of fear. Quite sad, actually, often covered up by rituals.

Too bad they make life miserable for the rest of us.
