11. All religions have "us" vs "them" at their core

It's a feature, not a bug, because what could induce people to join up if the sales pitch doesn't scare 'em to death with the idea of being the "them" that will "miss out" on the supposed enlightenment or entry to a hideous idea of paradise otherwise?

You don't want to be like "them," burning in hell or reincarnated into a lizard or lacking in all morals, do you?

That "argument" works more often than it ought.
