I have occasionally seen things that I couldn't recognize, but I've never been convinced I've seen something from a distant alien civilization.
As others have mentioned, it's pretty strange that with so many cell phones capable of taking video and photographs, there aren't a whole lot of reputable such video and photos in recent years. To suggest that the aliens somehow know all about our picture-taking capability and somehow avoid them is quite silly.
I have a son who is getting his PhD in astronomy, and he just spent the past week at a conference on exo-planets in Cambridge, England. Lots of cool things are being learned these days. He did recently tell me that there's reason to believe that the Universe is actually so young, and intelligent life is so unlikely to happen, that we may be the actual first intelligent species in our own galaxy. Or, as Steven Hawking once said, any aliens out there would probably be more terrible and more deadly than we can imagine. Luckily, interstellar distances are so vast that travel between stars, even within our own galaxy will probably never be possible.
