1. I used Indeed and got contacted by some really awful possible employers.

My experience was it was a lot of retail, home sales types of things. I finally found a university job, part time through friends who knew how I was suffering. I took my resume EVERYWHERE I went and always told people I was looking. Of course I was an older worker, anyone over 50 has a hard time.
