If I were firing up the time machine, though, I'd enjoy taking my sweetie to 1122 Pearl St., Boulder, CO, circa 1973 - and buying a meal ticket for Hanna Kroger's restaurant upstairs from New Age Foods.
Plenty of tasty, creative, vegetarian entrees, soups, and salads for very little money.
It's decades (and 1700 miles) away, but it was very nice to remember it. Thanks for the mind trip!

We used to do one pricey dinner out every year. We did go to Le Bernardin. Not memorable...
