In the early 1970s, I was at the wedding and reception of one of my nursing school classmates. Needed to use the ladies’ room, which for some reason was very dark. Unbeknownst to me, the commode had a soft, squishy, padded toilet seat.

I thought I had sat down on the lap of someone who was already in there, and leaped up with a shriek. Very odd, and unpleasant, sensation.
