4. When I was a kid life was so much simpler

We got two TV channels - the regular one and the educational one - pre-PBS. That was it, so picking which channel was easy - you walked to the TV - pre-remote - turned the dial until something showed up on the screen.

We could have gotten a couple more channels, but Dad would have had to climb on the roof to turn the antenna. Since Mom & Dad wanted to get the educational channel more than they did the two channels that were a different direction, it stayed in that spot. We never had cable in that house.
