I almost lol myself into throwing up every time I see this sketch. You can hear the audience start to laugh when they see the blood start to rain down on the chicken. He stays in character and gives them permission to laugh.
Julia Child was 6 feet 2 inches tall. Dan Akroyd is 6'1". He has the voice down, and this classic sketch will remain one for all time.
I once punched a hole in my finger with an 18 gauge needle. There is no doubt that a lot of blood is going to show up if you cut your finger like that. Because the school I am considering requires camera images of what you look like and what you are preparing and cooking, I was exploring the idea of a kind of visual progression story involving a bright and shiny face in the beginning, and a goblet of wine at the end. I don't know if I could get away with that, but it would be less dull than my frightened face every week. Plus, I am six feet tall, so, it would be almost the same thing.
I am considering construction of a kind of show set, so I was looking for cooking shows, what they have, and then I couldn't resist looking up this old sketch which makes me laugh hysterically right about the time the chicken gets drenched in blood. Bless her heart, she probably wouldn't have laughed at this sketch, but I love it.
