2. I watched what I could. It was kind of joyous.

I didn't realize it was Sinead O'Connor's birthday. I was in Dublin the day after she died and and there was a pall over the city. When they had the funeral procession for Shane, complete with marching band, it seemed like a different mood, albeit a mixed one. There's a fierce love of of life in his music that hers doesn't have (and I am a fan of both).

I never wanted to be in Dublin more than I did on Friday. And I pretty much generally always want to be in Dublin.
