(2,119 posts)Take photos of the stuff in the boxes, and send via UPS or someplace that will give you a receipt, so you can use for proof of sending and it should also give you tracking so you can prove they received it.
In my area (SoCal) years ago Verizon dumped us internet users and Frontier took us over. In the early days they were a disaster, and tons of locals complained about the non existent customer service. One man ( and a few others ) warned that he had continuing charges for non-returned boxes etc after he'd sent them in. He suggested what I said above.
So, when we eventually dropped our tv service with them I did all of those steps. Sure enough in the following month or so, I kept seeing charges for their equipment. So, I called and said 'Hey, I sent all of that stuff back to you.' (And note here--it was in the return boxes that I'd received FROM THEM WITH THEIR LABELS!!) The person checked whatever it was to be checked and said 'We have no record of receiving that equipment back'. And I got to say 'Well, I'm holding the tracking receipt that show it was received by your facility on X day at X time'. Silence.... 'Oh, let me get a supervisor'. In the end they had to admit that they DID get the equipment back, so the extra charges were removed. So, even tho' it's a pain to do those extra steps it's worth it to avoid them screwing you over even more.
Edit to add--if I remember right, the UPS guy told me how long it should take to get to Frontier's facility in San Diego, so I checked back with him to get the final receipt that showed it had been received.
Good luck!!!
