(68,511 posts)52. Oh, don't get me started on windows. We had the old rope, weight and pulley ones and when the rope got old and
frayed the windows came down with a thud. That was our very next improvement. However, we got nice, well fitting windows, our second improvement. Don't even ask about the kitchen stove but it was gas and we wanted a gas oven. That old oven belonged in a museum and we actually tried to sell it as a vintage item but alas, no takers. We did get a nice modern gas stove in black cuz I didn't want to clean it too often. It looks great and has only had one repair in all these years...(over 20).

i want an electric stove. i did fine using my grandma's + the cottage old electric + way easier to clean.

My stove has had one repair over some 10 years. But the cost was $250 for the gas repair guy to come to us for repair.
