I think Christmas is a much better measure because you can give gifts that are targeted toward individuals. Halloween is just candy for everybody.

Well other than me. My dad wouldn't allow me to go trick or treating. While he didn't let me do the whole Santa Claus thing either, he at least did gifts.

Also I don't tend to like children and Halloween is a holiday for kids. So maybe I'm just a hum bug.
