I took an eastern Caribbean cruise with Princess. I loved it. I would do it again in an instant. We left from Ft. Lauderdale.
I am not a gambler so I wasn't aware you get some crazy discount.
We did the glass bottom boat. It was okay to do once. I wouldn't do it again. But it's one of those things you should try. I mean, hey, you're in a boat in the Caribbean, right? - what's not to like? 
Also on St Maarten we went to a butterfly farm. That was cute too, a 6 year old might enjoy that.
On St. Thomas we did the aerial tram and the views you get from up there are spectacular. I would do that - it's fun. Plus there's a bar at the top. 
I enjoyed every second of that cruise. It was my second cruise. My first was in the Mediterranean where we went to like 10 different cities. That was great too. But the Caribbean is more my speed. 
And, yes, I liked the food. I am a vegetarian and I was happily surprised at the variety of things that even I could eat.
