7. There may be something to the 'ideological divide'

For me, I just have a limit to how seriously I can take DC characters. As someone who originally got into it seriously during the so-called silver age, Marvel characters were more multi-dimensional. They had problems and flaws that made them relevant to me. DC's characters were flat and seemed to be targeting a younger, less sophisticated audience. They seemed stuck in their Adam West/George Reeves renderings. At some point they began to emulate Marvel's approach but I still couldn't think of them as anything but 'kids' comics.' Now that Marvel's MCU has taken superhero movies to a new level, here comes me-too DC again...
