We had arrived at a lake where the hippos roam. The ranger had just told us that hippos are some of the fastest, slyest, and most singularly dangerous animals that prey on humans.
They apparently don't swim much, they stand in the water, but are submerged. We saw the outlines of backs.
On our safari mobile was one smoker. He is heavily addicted. Right after we parked he asked the ranger: Can I step off a minute?
Ranger: Are you effin' kidding me? They come out and grab you before you got the match lit.
