2. The on camera flash is a little more 'flat' than the scrim.

The scrim allows for a more directional light. The biggest difference is the highlight on the left side of the boom that's missing in the flash.

I'm hoping some of our cell phone users will be inspired to take a bit more control over the creative experience.
