That is a good point. The return of the death penalty was one of the first things Tim Pawlenty pursued in his first term. It was shocking; he was obviously playing to a wider audience -- not the citizens of Minnesota! But Pawlenty had the ugly rape and murder of a sweet, blonde coed by a Mexican immigrant to use to justify calling for the death penalty. Nevertheless, his efforts failed. Perhaps Walker is waiting for a heinous crime in Wisconsin to give him an opportunity?
