12. I love it too - I have a couple of

additional personal reasons as well as fond memories and many friends and former colleagues there. #1 Son, DIL & two grandsons live there, so I spend as much time there as I can when I am in the States. The grandsons are still young enough (5 & 7) to think that their grandmom is amazing! Who doesn't like adulation?

But yes, I love DC's "ambiance" and the people - not so much the transient politicos, but those who actually live and work there on a full-time basis.

One of my "pet" hopes is that National Airport will someday be renamed either plain "DC National" Airport or something more fitting than the abomination (IMO) it now bears. Any OTHER airport in the country perhaps, but NOT THAT one.

I love that BWI was renamed "Thurgood Marshall." It is the airport I generally choose to use whenever possible - very user-friendly IMO and much closer to my US base than either of the other "Washington" airports. I also love being greeted with "Welcome back, hon!" DC and Baltimore, although so close geographically, have entirely different "personalities" and I love them both.
