in Douglass' book, JFK and the Unspeakable: Why He Died and Why It Matters (Orbis Books, 2008, Touchstone Books/Simon & Schuster, 2010). Oswald believed that he was ordered to Dallas to PROTECT the President. Also, Oswald was sent to Russia in order to set up an elaborate scheme to BLAME Russia for the assassination, in order to pressure JFK's successor to nuke Russia in retaliation. They were furious that JFK had refused to nuke Russia during the Cuban Missile Crisis--the final disagreement between the CIA/MIC and JFK that precipitated the assassination.

Douglass is simply brilliant at exposing the CIA's convoluted plot and coverup, including the REASONS FOR IT.

So, this news surprises me not at all. Oswald clearly had CIA handlers and was a CIA patsy. What is a bit surprising is that a "former Cuban exile anti-Castro militant"--Antonio Veciana--would have a change of heart and start telling the truth.

I'm beginning to think that the putrid and traumatizing underbelly of our government, and the key event of this putrid and traumatizing underbelly--the CIA's assassination of JFK--may at long last be on the verge of "going viral." We desperately need it to do so. Douglass calls it "WHY IT MATTERS." We are sick, sick country and society--a country and a society living a lie!
