8. Just got a 19-lb turkey

For 6 adults, 1 teenager and 2 little ones. Will be plenty. We mostly like the white meat and give the leftover dark meat (careful to remove any bones and tendons) to the family pets. Leftover white meat is wonderful of course.
Our turkey was free with Giant points.
