A cheap Black & Decker worked for me for years, toasting bread and bagels and broiling fish and baking chicken breasts. It only does pizza by the slice, but that's how most people eat it.

I tend to live out of them in summer, they don't heat the kitchen up that much.

If you want to do things like roasts and bread, you'll have to go up in price fo more volume. I can recommend the Cuisinart convection toaster oven for that sort of thing. It's pricey but it's worth it, and it does great toast.
