3. I'm afraid to find out

At some point in the coming year, I should probably get my dog's stomach x-rayed. She's a rescue we've had for just a few months, and it's become obvious that she will try to chew just about anything she can get. She's especially fond of the wooden handle of tools and brushes, but rocks or blankets will do also.

Poor old gal was taken from a hoarder, and at least one of the dogs from that same home died before they were all removed. So even if she hasn't eaten anything -- just chewed it up -- while she's been with us, there's no telling what she's swallowed in the past to cope with gnawing hunger.
