the way he cuddled with your daughter, and the way he protected you.

Many years ago we had a cat who would always stick like glue to anyone who was under the weather. My husband was very ill for the last few months of his life, and TC was with him all the time. TC died about 5 months after my husband died, and I'm sure it was because he had a broken heart.

A lot of people are afraid to have a cat around a baby, so that might have been the case with your cat's previous people. I remember my mother-in-law worrying about our cat (a different one) when my kids were little. I just let it go in one ear and out the other. We never had a problem.

I just am not impressed with this whole bird thing. My cats are well fed. They're just evil.
