In reply to the discussion: Analysis of Recent Mass Shootings (thru 7-17-14) [View all]NYC_SKP
(68,644 posts)37. "small-petered ass hat gleefully rubbing his AK in his mommy's basement."? Really, doxydad?
First, wow, do you really expect to convince anyone of an argument with comments like that?
Second, the militia has been defined in rulings broadly enough to include those belonging to the unorganized militia, ordinary citizens; it hasn't been made obsolete by the National Guard, as some have suggested.
Third, when the 2A was written, it wasn't to gain independence, it was to secure and maintain a "free state" in perpetuity.
Finallly, you'll never win. Some of the 7600 groups you mention are sensible, and others are batshit crazy.
I belong to one of the sensible groups.
TTFN.
4. Why should there be ANY mass shootings?
If you HAVE to have guns, then it should be for 'sport' hunting, I suppose. These guns with multiple clips are used for only murdering other humans. The Second Amendment may not be repealed in my lifetime but the discussion has to include it. Those who cower behind it are not understanding that when it was written it was for a MILITIA fighting for independence, not some small-petered ass hat gleefully rubbing his AK in his mommy's basement. There's not a doubt in my mind that change is in the air, and that the Second Amendment will eventually be challenged and overturned. Not today, not in this 'lock 'n load' mentality but it will happen.
I recall back in the 80's where they said we would never have single payer insurance... it was nothing more than a dream, was fine for other Nations like Britain, Canada, Australia, Germany, basically the entire First World Community, but not us. WHY? GREED.
That was 30 + years ago and we are well the way to that destination. Same goes with this horribly outdated and heavily mis-spoken Second Amendment. It will be overturned. I just won't be around to see it. There are toughly 7600 groups around the Country that are investing in gun control, and I am PROUD to stand with them to stop the killing.

Your insurance idea would make the NRA a true political and financial juggernaut.

We need multiple ammo clips because even great marksmanship doesn't mean one shot will stop a creep.
