Gun Control & RKBA
In reply to the discussion: Probably the best 2nd Amendment speech ever. [View all]GayPleb
(10 posts)126. What Rights?
A wonderful example of the selfishness of RKBA advocates
"My rights trump your dead."
I know. So selfish. Just like all the DU'ER and and libertarians complaining about the Patriot Act I paraphrase:
"My Right in the 4th Amendment TRUMPS the 9/11 victims."
Or perhaps:
"My Right to not be sabotaged or attacked by Japanese Americans TRUMPS their Right to the 14th Amendment, namely liberty"
If gun ownership would be outlawed tomorrow, would there be an increase in deaths or a decrease? Obviously a decrease. But they'll keep arguing anyway, their wet dreams about fighting off government forces and the military trump everyone else's right to life.
Given that 2/3 are suicides and a gun ban would probably save less that 1000 people that commit suicide and a substantial pertinent of homicides are committed by criminals I doubt it would go down.
In fact, I would venture that the first few years will be extremely bloody for the cops you send in to seize guns, if Bundy Ranch taught anything.
P.S. As a matter of logic please explain how I owning a gun proximally denies your right to life. Heck, I would venture that the "liberty" of young black men threatens everyone else's right to life more than licensed concealed weapons holders.
But under your logic, of your right to life superseding other Constitutional and Human rights I guess we can just jail all the Black "youths".

Your argument could be applied to the other nine amendments, it's not 1776 any more.

Obivously I was using the figurative sense. Your literal sense post indicates you're the who's not.
