no matter where we stand on the continuum of gun control/gun ownership, have just gotten sufficiently wearied by all these gun murders that they hardly seem worth discussing any more. Every single day in this country about thirty people are killed by guns, and that's not counting the many more who kill themselves or who get shot by cops.

Every single day. Whatever you think about the causes, whatever you think is the answer, whatever your opinion about the access to guns in this country, it's a mind-numbing number. Every day another 30 gun deaths. Does it really matter if it's thirty individual deaths or someone who kills eight or twelve or thirty-five?
