As most lawsuits are about money, of course MGM got sued because they are the deep pockets here. Also, they likely have some sort of insurance and often insurance pays out quickly to avoid being sued by their insured for "bad faith".

I predict a quick sealed out of court settlement from MGM.

True, there are lawsuits to make a point and those would have been against the NRA and a gun store.
