8. I would definitely get a cage and put water and seed holders in it.

Also newspaper on the bottom with gravel.. Gravel can also be put in a little seed container as well. They need the gravel (bought at a pet store)to digest their food. Stalks of celery is a treat for these guys.

You can put a little tie on the door to keep it open.

Chances are these were pets. I lost a very tame little one when I was a child. He was on my mother's shoulder when she briefly went out the door. I know of others who have lost parrots and parakeets by similar mistakes. Often on the fourth of July. Many people let their parakeets fly around the house all day and make sure they are in a covered cage for the evening. They usually make it back to the cage on their own or we would hold the cage up to them. Of course, when they fly around, they can easily fly out the door. If you go to a local lost-pet site, you might find somebody who is looking for them.
