This should not be possible. He should be charged, and the Vatican should send him back for trial voluntarily.

Such crimes should not be subject to diplomatic immunity. Period. We've seen enough of this crap. Let's see whether the Vatican gives a damn. If this is not punished, then it is a condemnation of the entire organization, in my opinion. Not that it is not already damned for its unconcern about the welfare of children.

No more should any religious people be allowed to skate on such crimes. Ever! Further, priests should all be mandatory reporters with severe penalties for hiding child pornography or the sexual abuse of children. To the Devil with the secrecy of the confessional. Our laws should not allow that, where crimes that harm others are involved. Period.
