1. This law is absolutely nuts

I read that there are 500,000 Muslims and 30,000 Jews in Belgium. That's 530,000 Belgians - 5% of the Belgian population. Add in people who prefer Kosher or Halal foods for the perception of better, more humane, etc. So, 5% of the population wants it. There are companies willing to provide it.

There really is only one reason to ban a product/service that is used by 530,000 people for religious reasons. Religious discrimination. Unless, of course, they choose to bank ice cream, cookies, and, oh, I don't know, apples (totally arbitrary choices). I don't know Belgium, but I can't see this withstanding any court or EU challenges.
