6. Some extra cross-over appeal + coattails = eliminate the GOP's ability to frustrate legislation.

 

Bernie can do that, as long as the DNC chair selects a few not too corporate candidates to ride his coattails. Real liberals have a better chance of flipping seats.

Then, president Sanders could threaten to withold his support from Democrats who work with the remains of the GOP to frustrate sensible solutions. And that would start to fix the Democratic Party's part of the broken system.

But I agree we need some sweaping reforms for Wall Street, campaign financing, health care, law enforcement, institutional racism, immigration, gender equality, gay equality, gun control, and so on. Winning the GE will only be the first of many victories we need. It will be a long way.
