It is a show of hands, one person one vote. For Democrats, if a candidate has less than 15% of those who show up in any of the caucus sites, they don't count, and those voters can be wooed over to another candidate or go hom3.

But as far as I know it is pure popular vote.

The Delegates in Iowa will be divided depending on the percentage of the caucus votes received.
