There is a crisis in US Elections, and political system [View all]

And we are part of the problem.

Popegate, as some of you have cutely called this is a damn perfect example of it. Yes a Jewish American political leader was invited to the Vatican for an academic convention. The reaction in most normal countries, the US is not... would be WHAT AN HONOR... represent us well. What is the subject? Might want to look into it. Alas we are not a normal country.

The reaction relayed a good dose of anti intellectualism, inability to deal with issues more complicated than a cat up a tree, or quite frankly some disgusting anti-Semitism and anti catholic smears. That does not put the other side above the scrutiny. Yes, Sanders did respond in kind to the attacks from the HRC campaign... I cannot blame him for that, BUT, the response in both the media and here was a he said she said. And popegate was also an attempt to remove some speech from the headlines, effectively mind you.

Abroad people worry about Trump. Yes, they worry what that represents to the world. But quite brutally honest, the pattern that has developed is quite the inability by many of you to understand what is driving both the Trump and Sanders candidacies.

Yes... people are tired of the status quo, they are tried of working endless hours and not making it, they are tired of their jobs going away (which gets some predictable responses from some posters here that are not just ignorant but down right stupid).

We have major issues right now facing the future of the American people (and the world)

They are as follows and in no particular order:

Climate Change
Income Inequality
Government Corruption
Bad schools
In spite of the ACA we still have serious issues with actual access to medical care.

Is one candidate a saint (another stupid anti catholic posting btw), and will walk on water? No.

But what will happen if these issues are not tackled in a serious way by whoever wins the presidency, you think we are having troubles now? JUST WAIT.

I had a pretty vivid dream the other day... one that is near impossible. But both parties get the establishment candidate in... well the GE has people who are pissed protest voting for Jill Stein... alas enough do she actually wins the election. You know why? The third insurgent was not removed. We are in the middle of a change election. These are trends that point to either we change to a more inclusive society, and I could care less who gets the presidency... or we will face a radicalized youth. Becuase you know what? The kids have lost their future to no fault of their own, and due to the unrelenting greed . To paraphrase Senator Kennedy. "How much greed? When will enough be enough?"

We are seeing the edges of that in the edges of society with pretty middle class formerly Christian kids joining ISIS, as well as first and second generation Somali Americans and other immigrant groups, It is far less than Europe, but those are the leading edges of a very real crisis. Not one that our lovely media will speak, or why we are having that crisis.

I know this rant will not make any of the people trying to tar and feather either candidate happy... but it makes me feel better.

For the record, Trump will not win in a first vote, which data pointed to earlier in the year. He will likely have to horse trade delegates in the second vote... (which he has no clue how to do). So guess what? HRC or Sanders will not run against Trump. In fact I expect somebody we have likely not heard from, or with positives we do not expect, to be put in place by the Rs.

I also expect the Ds to go to a floor fight, given CURRENT DATA. I am guided by the dynamic data... that moves with each election, Tonight's election and final results changed things very little in the big picture, and at this point we are in a really close election. Spare me your "math" by the way.

The Rs might go away, this might be their last nominating convention. Yes it is that dramatic. But you know what? There is a chance this is the same for the Ds, and it has all to do with what I just posted. The crisis is real. So time you people get off these high horses, and the rest and realize that this is a crisis like none other. It is nothing much that is at risk, just your children.

I expect this to make zero sense to the at war factions here. but it makes me feel better to get this off my chest.

For the record, I am proud that a US Senator was invited to this conference, and the list of attendees is quite impressive. Live with it, or not, I give two shits about it. Also for the record, the optics suck for Clinton, but the MSM will protect her. And since I have been working on actual ISSUES, I know it is not just many of you who have a problem with complex stories. We are at a time when willful ignorance can cost us... nothing more, just species survival.
