2016 Postmortem
In reply to the discussion: Hillary doesn't need or want Bernie's supporters votes in the general election. [View all]beedle
(1,235 posts)87. Easy to see who Hillary and their supporters want to court
... and it's not progressives, it's the corporations.
If Bernie supporters are not needed, then fine, don't be asking for our support, and don't get all pissy when we don't give it to you.
If there ever was a case of 'dost protest too much', this has to be one of the most obvious.
So what is it? Are we 'electing Trump'? Or are we just 'meaningless protest voters that don't matter in the GE'? Pick one of those mutually exclusive claims and then act consistently ... oh, right, I'm talking to Clinton supporters, consistency is not one of their strong suites.

The article refers to 'Bernie or Bust' individuals… if someone declares they won't vote for you

So you're plan to help HRC win is to engage voters who are already willing to vote for her.

I think you make the case - politely - as to why they should change their position

How is telling voters on the left that their votes are not needed NOR wanted coalition building?

It's not a smart letter, but it's only telling that to those who have said they won't vote anyways.

I just love this new found honesty from HRC, Inc. So refreshing to know exactly where one stands.

Yes for the over 80% that can get behind Clinton. Threatening, attacking, accusing?

Maybe so, but they were going to vote in the GE. There is more to political life than The Party

Uh huh. Hillary says "unite" and I read here that she said "go pound sand" & "we don't need you."

The article is by a Hillary supporter. It is the opinion of a Hillary supporter.

I did not say Hillary said it herself and I did not say I would not vote for HRC.
