2016 Postmortem
In reply to the discussion: I've been told Trump has clips from Hillarys speeches to wall st [View all]CincyDem

Think about this from a probability point of view.
We know HRC was a speaker for GS. What are the odds that one or several of those speeches was officially recorded? My guess is pretty high since corporations look at things like this as "assets" to be used for other purposes within the firm at a future date. Maybe with another group of managers, maybe in another geography...whatever...just used again.
So, high odds there are videos.
What are the odds there is passage in those videos that can be carved out of context and presented as HRC's "47%" moment. My guess is pretty high, especially in the hands of such a$$hats as Roger Stone. I'm sure that in the context of her entire message, her comments will be benign but cut and paste messaging could make anyone sound bad.
So, high odds there are videos and high odds that there is a 10 second out of context sound bite that will sound pretty bad.
What are the odds that the Roger Stone's of the world will find someone willing to pay any price for a copy of that tape. My guess is that these tapes will be the hottest commodity of the general election season (unless someone has photos of Trump in a compromising position with a doberman - oh that we be so lucky...lol).
So, high odds there's a 10 second cut from these videos that ends up in a Trump or PAC ad going into November.
I don't know if this turns into October surprise but if anyone is going to dump this pile of BS out in the street and try to make a story of it...it's Trump. Unfortunately, the way it's been handled by the campaign leaves this as the only potential piece of meat in the chitstorm he's going to be peddling.
I voted to Bernie in the Ohio Primary and I fully intend to vote for HRC in the general (as well as very downticket D I can find). My biggest regret of the primary season is NOT that Bernie has run out of steam. It is that HRC didn't dump these tapes out at midnight on that debate night when the question was raised. By this time...whatever quote cutting that could be done would be old old news.
Instead, it's like trying to hold a fart in while riding the elevator up the Empire State Building. It's a long way to the top and you know you're going to lose the fight with mother nature around the 87th floor...and nobody has anywhere to hide.
In the end (i.e. the morning of 11/9/16) she wins but it's going to be so f'ing ugly along the way.
