Let's clear up a couple of things about Vermont politics

8. The only person I can picture trying it would be Dean(either as candidate or mastermind).

It's been clear this entire cycle that Dean's support of HRC and passionate opposition to Bernie is based on a deeply-felt personal rage towards the man...possibly fueled by jealousy, given how much better Bernie did in 2016 than Dean did in 2004. Every time you saw Dean on tv this cycle, his entire body seemed clenched with anger.

If the national Dems tried primarying Bernie, the most likely result would be that Vermont Dems would break with the national party and join the VPP and other smaller parties in their own independent grouping...instantly putting the state under the total political dominance of a left-wing third party.

Even DWS wouldn't be crazy enough to go there.
