There's too much at stake. Anyway, Sanders owes a large duty, a responsibility, and a debt to the Democratic Party. No one could stop him from walking away from all of them, but it wouldn't be okay.

"Opening" the Democratic Party is being mentioned, yet the party has always been wide open to anyone who wants to join. So the idea of "opening" primaries even further to hostile takeovers from outsiders coming in to overset the votes of the Democratic Party membership? Absolutely not.

I was for open primaries until this election--naively. Now I believe they should all be closed. The shockingly large and widespread anti-Democrat corruption of our primary was a wake-up call. What happened this year should never be allowed to happen again.

We can serve our democratic principles well by allowing registration in the party right up to the last week or so--however close will allow proper checking to avoid significant voter fraud.
