I don't have a purple heart, but I have other medals. I was awarded one copy of each medal at a ceremony, and then I could purchase extra copies if I had more than one uniform or one was damaged.

I'm pretty sure you can just buy a purple heart online if you need one, so it really makes no sense to call it a "copy" as if it is not a real medal.
