(14,173 posts)I also joined JPR as a big time Bernie supporter. I only posted one op and mostly just lurked.
Frankly sometimes I feel like I am caught in between. I STILL think Bernie was a once in a generation candidate. Hillary has made a few bad choices, and i still don't trust her to change much on Wall street. But she is no more a corporate caterer than Obama, she has evolved on many social issues, and has adopted some of Bernies platform. So I am ok with that.
I still believe it would have been such a transformative moment in American history to have had Bernie in the WH but it's not going to happen. That doesn't mean his political revolution has stalled though. I'm sure there may be times ahead when Hillary may not live up to her promises to his supporters and there may be raucous times ahead in DU.
But I simply can't get behind the scorched earth ideas of those at JPR. They would seem to prefer aTrump disaster, from which miraculously will arise a new liberal era from the ashes.
That's like playing with fire with a nuclear button.
I was also quite taken with her acceptance speech.
