Can he give a good interview? Does he have a certain charm and joie de vivre? He should call a news producer and charm the living shit out of them--come off as engaged, convivial, and elderly.
He needs to start calling TV stations until someone will come and interview him. Give 'em a time limit, and then say he's going on to the next candidate.
He should conceal his party affiliation if possible--always better to appeal to both sides of the street.
