In reply to the discussion: Let me know how this "harass Black people into voting for Sanders" campaign is working for y'all [View all]bravenak
(34,648 posts)I see this as an opportunity too. This is a chance fo Bernie to break the hold that Hillary (full disclosure, I am not a fan, at all) has on the minority population.
If you see from last time, it was difficult to break her hold until Obama started winning. Right now Bernie has full access to the movement shoukd he choose to bring them in and elevate their concerns as a top priority on his agenda. The more he is see working with black people lik the effectively, it will help bring more in.
Those activist are much respected in the black community and you know this is the New Civil rights movement. It's not going anywhere because they will NOT STOP killing and abusing us. Their energy can help move his campaign to new heights. All he has to do is to bring them in and ask them, help me please, I care about your lives and want to help. We need that. We need his supporter to accept us as equals and see the pain and fear and behave as if it were their own pain and fear. I'm tearing up but I'm strong, we're strong, we really cannot go on like this. It is desparate. Honestly I wish that all the economic justice warriors would realize that we are the most reliable voting block. Throw on some black lives matter shirts and mobilize with us. Everywhere. Don't hate us. Help us. I just wish they would see how hard this is to keep having to tell other humans that we are too. We're human. Please stop treating us like animals. Stop letting us die while they fight over dollars and cents. We won't all live long enough for economic justice to reach us. Dead. Jail. Mortuary.
